While the Los Angeles Rams are known for traveling at once per season, a game in China during the 2020 season would simply be too much.

Last week, the Los Angeles Rams officially found out they would be heading to Hawaii for the 2019 preseason for a game against the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 17, which will arguably feel like a vacation for some players since it’s one of the most beautiful places in the country.

However, the Rams should be concerned about a potential game down the road in 2020 that would seem more like a hassle for Sean McVay and company instead of a great experience.

Over the months, there have been talks over the possibility of the NFL playing a game in China for the 2020 season, and while the San Francisco 49ers seem to be a strong candidate to participate, there’s been talk about Los Angeles possibly joining them for the contest.

First off, let’s make it clear that going to Hawaii during the preseason is completely different from having to travel all the way to China for a regular season game, especially when it comes all of the traveling involved.

Also, both Rams and 49ers fans should feel outraged over the possibility of these NFC West rivals having to play one of their two meetings overseas since it could put one team at a major disadvantage when it comes to the 2020 season in general.

The rivalry may not be as big now as some of the others across the NFL, but there is hope the Rams and 49ers are on the rise due to Jared Goff and Jimmy Garoppolo continuing to work their way as two top quarterbacks in the NFL.

From the perspective of Roger Goodell and the NFL, it’s easy to understand why they would want to continue expanding NFL games into other countries to benefit fans around the world, but this scenario involving China seems like a bit too much.

Football fans in China would certainly love to see a young team like the Rams that are built to be serious contenders in the NFC for years to come, but at the end of the day, here’s to hoping that Los Angeles doesn’t end up having to deal with this at all.
