After two years in a row consisting of being traded in the offseason, Brandin Cooks seems to finally have a set team in the Los Angeles Rams.

Around this time last year, the Los Angeles Rams were enjoying the excitement of acquiring Brandin Cooks from the New England Patriots in a trade that seemed to come out of nowhere.

After the Rams decided to let Sammy Watkins hit free agency instead of using the franchise tag on the speedster, Sean McVay and company seemed set on Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp handling most of the responsibilities in the passing game.

Instead, Cooks came on board, and provided Los Angeles with a major upgrade at the No. 1 wide receiver spot, and watching them reward him with an extension before playing an actual game shows how much confidence they had in his ability to shine.

By starting all 16 games while hauling in 80 passes for 1,204 with five touchdowns in 2018, it’s safe to say that Los Angeles made the right choice in acquiring Cooks, and it was easily worth giving up a first rounder in last year’s draft in order to land him.

Coincidentally, Cooks had been traded to the Patriots the year before from the New Orleans Saints with a first-round pick involved, which means the wideout was part of two trades in a row with first rounders being part of the deal.

This time around, however, the Rams seem pretty set on keeping Cooks around for the long run after quickly becoming one of Jared Goff‘s favorite targets in the passing game.

Not to mention, just the presence of Cooks with his speed comes up big every once in a while as well when it comes to drawing pass-interference calls on opponents, showing just how much he brings to the table each week.

Whether they will admit it now or not, there were some concerns last offseason when Los Angeles acquired Cooks since playing on a third team in three seasons had red flags written all over it.

One year later, there aren’t too many Rams fans concerned about the deal that took place last April anymore since Cooks seems to have found a consistent team to stick with for the long run, and continue providing Los Angeles with one of the most dangerous weapons on offense.
