3. Quinnen Williams

Unlike some of the other teams with top picks in the first round, the good news for the 49ers is they don’t have to worry about considering a quarterback at No. 2 since Garoppolo is locked up for the long run.

Most likely, San Francisco will lean towards using the second overall pick to help add another weapon on the defensive side of the football, and while Quinnen Williams may be the long shot selection over Bosa or Allen, the Alabama product certainly deserves consideration.

Just the fact that Alabama has seen plenty of great defensive players go on to succeed at the NFL level is just one of numerous reasons behind why Williams will be considered a potential option for the 49ers.

After putting up decent numbers as a freshman, Williams exploded on to the scene as a sophomore for the Crimson Tide by finishing the regular season with eight sacks to go along with 19.5 tackles for loss.

From his quick burst to the problems he causes for opposing offensive lineman, there’s a good chance Williams will be off the board by the time the first five picks are done.

Whether the 49ers believe he would be the better option over Bosa or Allen, only time will tell for Kyle Shanahan‘s squad.
