2. Carson Wentz

No matter what, Goff will always be compared to Carson Wentz since the quarterbacks were selected as the top two picks back in 2016.

Plus, with Wentz already having a Super Bowl title to his name, even if Nick Foles played in the postseason that year, Goff faces a little extra pressure of his own to finally earn the first of what will hopefully be many rings throughout his career.

Despite watching Super Bowl 52 from the sidelines, it should be noted that Wentz was the favorite to win MVP during the 2017 season before that devastating knee injury forced him to miss the remainder of the year.

While some believe the Philadelphia Eagles would have been better off sticking with Foles heading into the 2019 season, in the long run, Wentz is the right answer for this team, and it will be exciting to see him hopefully at full strength again come September.

With the deadline for the Eagles to decide on Wentz’s fifth-year option quickly approaching, the team is right there with the Rams when it comes to knowing that talks for a new deal will have to take place sooner or later.

But unlike Los Angeles, Philadelphia doesn’t face as much pressure since Wentz’s injuries will most likely come into play over what kind of money they’re willing to spend whenever the time does come to discuss that next contract.
