1. Russell Wilson

Of all the quarterbacks worth keeping an eye on in regards to a new contract, Russell Wilson seems like the one keeping an eye on the most, mainly because it could come in the next couple of weeks.

With Wilson giving the Seattle Seahawks an April 15 deadline so he can participate in offseason workouts without any distractions, it’s safe to assume that rivals of the Rams will have to break the bank to keep their beloved quarterback around for the long run.

From Seattle’s perspective, however, it shouldn’t matter what kind of money they have to spend on Wilson since the team has only missed out on the playoffs once (2017) in seven years.

In other words, the Seahawks obviously realize continuing to invest in Wilson will put the team in much better shape to contend for years to come, and they’re certainly going to need it with the Rams coming off back-to-back NFC West titles.

At this stage in his career, Goff isn’t on the same level as Wilson, but at least he seems to be moving in the right direction. But no matter what happens with Wilson in his next deal, it’s almost a guarantee that Goff will use those numbers to help determine his next contract, and the Rams won’t be able to avoid it.
