These days, there aren’t many NFL stars who end up being fortunate enough to spend an entire career on one team. This was exactly the case for offensive lineman Tom Mack with the Rams from 1966 to 1978.

After looking at how amazing of a job he did at Michigan protecting quarterbacks, the Rams felt confident enough that Mack would one day be able to do the same for them in the NFL.

Even though Mack didn’t begin his NFL career as a starter, since it took an injury to Don Chuy during the 1966 season for it to happen, it was the offensive tackle’s sophomore campaign in which things really started to take off.

Just how valuable was Mack for the offensive line with the Rams? Well, Mack going on to reach the Pro Bowl in 11 of the next 12 seasons shows how he established a reputation for himself as a top lineman in the league.

Later on, Mack would rightfully earn his spot in Canton for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as one of the best offensive linemen to ever suit up in the NFL.

Once again like some of the other players mentioned, if only the Rams could have provided Mack with a Super Bowl title, his stellar career would have been even better.
