Week 1: Carolina Panthers (Away)

One can only imagine how different the playoffs would have been last January with the Carolina Panthers since the team appeared to be a lock for at least a Wild Card spot following a 6-2 start before it all fell apart.

How bad did things get for the Panthers? Watching Carolina fail to win a single game following that impressive start until Week 17 when the season was already over shows how bad things were for Ron Rivera’s squad.

To make things even more frustrating, the Panthers were even keeping things close with the New Orleans Saints in the NFC South race, but at least there’s room to get back on track in 2019.

Thanks to Christian McCaffrey taking a major leap during his sophomore campaign by proving to be a serious threat as both a runner and receiver, Carolina hopes to see their beloved running back take another major step in the right direction in his third NFL season.

Of course, the main questions surrounding the Panthers will be whether Cam Newton’s shoulder can stay 100 percent since this has been a major concern throughout the offseason.

Assuming Newton is healthy, and up to his usual ways, the Rams’ defense will be in for another challenge when it comes to keeping the Panthers quarterback in check.
