Round 1, Pick 31: Cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, Temple

As mentioned before, there’s a bit of uncertainty surrounding the Rams at the cornerback position beyond the 2019 season.

While Los Angeles will need to decide if Peters is worth keeping around for the long run on a new deal, Talib isn’t getting any younger, and may only have one or two good years left in him.

With this in mind, it makes perfect sense for the Rams to look to the draft to add depth to the cornerback position just to be safe since the last thing they want to do is have all this uncertainty around this time next year.

Over the last couple of weeks, Rock Ya-Sin has watched his draft stock rise, and there’s a good chance the Temple cornerback will hear his name called on opening night since plenty of teams will be looking to improve at cornerback.

Ya-Sin has the kind of burst that any defensive coordinator in the NFL would love to work with, and what makes this even more interesting to consider is how much he could learn as a rookie from a veteran like Talib.

The youngster obviously has plenty to prove since there are no guarantees at the NFL level, bu the potential surrounding Ya-Sin makes this seem well worth the consideration for Los Angeles.
