Los Angeles Rams: 7-Round 2019 mock draft version 3.0
By Dan Parzych
Round 6, Pick 203: Center Sam Mustipher, Notre Dame
Selecting three offensive lineman in one draft sounds ridiculous to say out loud, but also could be worth it for the Rams since as mentioned before, there is some uncertainty surrounding the unit after some changes this offseason.
Despite how great Sullivan was for Los Angeles at times over the last two seasons, there were some concerns surrounding the veteran center towards the end of the year with his play in decline.
The Rams rightfully have confidence in Allen being able to step up in Sullivan’s absence to make a larger impact during his sophomore campaign, but also it doesn’t hurt to have a good backup plan just in case.
Notre Dame has seen plenty of great players go on to succeed in the NFL over the years, and even though Sam Mustipher isn’t expected to be selected until the final day of the draft, the center could be exactly what the Rams are looking for.
Some scouts believe Mustipher needs to bulk up big time if he’s going to have any shot at succeeding in the NFL, but at least this would be easier for Los Angeles to work with if they were to lean in this direction towards the end of the draft.
