3. Erik McCoy

In the weeks leading up to the draft, Garrett Bradbury was a popular selection across draft boards for the Rams since the NC State star seemed capable of adding depth to the center position.

But since Bradbury went earlier than expected in the first round to the Minnesota Vikings, it looks like Los Angeles will need to look elsewhere if they still want a center.

One name that comes to mind is Erik McCoy out of Texas A&M since the center was already on the team’s radar, although using a first rounder on him may have been a little bit of a stretch.

Moving on from John Sullivan was the right decision by Los Angeles this offseason, and while the expectations are high for Brian Allen to take on a larger role, there’s no guarantee this will work out the way the Rams are hoping for.

While this doesn’t necessarily mean the Rams aren’t confident in Allen’s ability, the selection of McCoy would be to make sure they have the necessary depth at the position to make sure the offensive line remains in the best shape possible.

McCoy may not have been worthy of a first-round pick, but No. 45 could be the perfect place for the rookie center.
