2. Darrell Henderson: Round 3

What was the best part about the selection of Darrell Henderson? Without a doubt, the fact that Los Angeles previously met with Henderson knowing that he was projected to go in the first or second round, only to see the running back still available in the third round.

Right away, the immediate speculation was the Rams selected the former Memphis star as insurance to Todd Gurley since the Pro Bowl running back continues to deal with the knee injury that prevented him from making an impact in the NFC Championship and Super Bowl.

This may very well be the case for Los Angeles, but for now, the main focus in on the damage this new duo at running back could potentially do for opponents during the 2019 season and beyond.

The Rams already made it clear they will be taking a different approach with Gurley in 2019 to make sure they don’t overwork his knee, and while expectations were high for Malcolm Brown to take on a larger role, Henderson seems like the better option.

Plus, as much as Los Angeles doesn’t want to think about Gurley’s knee possibly still being an issue by the time Week 1 rolls around, at least Henderson gives them an extra option to work with.
