Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was fortunate enough to make a list of the top 25 NFL players under 25 heading into the 2019 season.

Two years ago, the Los Angeles Rams were hoping the hiring of Sean McVay as their new head coach would help bring out to the best in Jared Goff under center on offense.

After heavily investing in the former California star in the draft back in 2016, there were some concerns surrounding Goff after a rough rookie campaign in which he failed to win a single game in seven starts, although it wasn’t entirely his fault.

Thanks to the hiring of McVay that eventually led to an improved offensive line and receiving corps, Goff would end up taking a major leap during his sophomore campaign in 2017, and has worked his way into a top quarterback in the league over the last two seasons.

Clearly, McVay’s history of quarterback development has paid off in one of the best ways possible with Goff, and the best part is at 24, he seems to be only scratching the surface of his true potential.

Speaking of Goff’s age, the folks at CBS recently put together a list of the top 25 players under 25 heading into the 2019 season, and sitting at No. 11 happens to be the Rams quarterback himself, which seems fair.

While some fans may seem upset over the fact that Goff isn’t as high as some of the other quarterbacks mentioned such as Baker Mayfield (No. 5) or Deshaun Watson (No. 4), Sean Wagner-McGough makes a valid point about his reasoning behind the choice.

Between Goff’s disappointing numbers in the playoffs (only one touchdown pass in three games) along with some uncertainties surrounding Todd Gurley and the offensive line in 2019, this upcoming season could be a major test for the Pro Bowler.

Losing in the Super Bowl to the New England Patriots the way they did was beyond embarrassing for Los Angeles after failing to score a single touchdown, and even if it seemed unfair, Goff did receive a good amount of the blame.

With a full offseason to help get over what took place in February, here’s to hoping that Goff helps the Rams bounce back stronger than ever during the 2019 season.

Otherwise, questions could begin to emerge over whether Goff is the right answer under center next offseason, but at least Los Angeles doesn’t seem too concerned about this being the case based off the overall perspective from the previous two seasons.
