Los Angeles Rams cornerback Aqib Talib recently gave some high praise for Calvin Johnson and Antonio Brown, two of the toughest receivers the veteran has ever faced.

Last offseason, the Los Angeles Rams made a bold move by acquiring Aqib Talib from the Denver Broncos to help put the team in better position at cornerback.

From his reputation for being one of the best players in the league on defense to the veteran experience he would bring to the table, there were plenty of reasons for the Rams to be excited about the addition of Talib.

At the time, Los Angeles was in need of help at the cornerback position since they knew Trumaine Johnson was most likely on his way out, and with the team being in a win-now mode, Talib seemed like a perfect fit.

Take into consideration that the Rams also acquired Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs earlier in the offseason, and Los Angeles all of a sudden had a new dynamic duo at cornerback.

Football fans haven’t been shy over their criticism towards Talib over the years since the veteran has seemed out of control at times with his attitude, but the talent alone with the right coaching made it well worth it for the Rams in 2018.

With Talib entering his second season with the team, Los Angeles would love nothing more than to see the veteran come up big on defense once again in 2019 to put the Rams in the best position possible to earn another trip to the Super Bowl.

Last week, Talib paid a visit to the folks at ESPN, and what ended up being an interesting topic of discussion, the Rams cornerback was asked who he viewed as the toughest receivers ever faced.

In what shouldn’t come as a surprise, Antonio Brown was listed for present day after looking at the impact made over the years as one of the league’s most dangerous receivers while coming off a season in which he led the league with 15 touchdown catches.

As for who earned the honors for all-time with Talib, well Calvin Johnson seemed like the perfect answer since the wideout’s massive size nearly made him impossible to defend at times, and football fans to this day still talk about how great he was to watch.

Thanks to 12 years of experience, Talib has seen plenty of dominant receivers throughout his career, and there will be a few more to add to the list when looking at some of the opponents have in store for the 2019 season.

Knowing Talib, there’s no question he will be ready for the challenge since working his way to becoming a top cornerback didn’t just happen on accident.
