3 trade targets Rams should consider from Redskins in 2019 before training camp
By Dan Parzych
1. Ryan Anderson
Believe it or not, linebacker was one of the major needs surrounding the Rams entering the start of training camp last offseason, and while the defense appears to be in much better shape for 2019, it’s beyond the upcoming season that could be concerning.
Between Clay Matthews being up there in age along with Dante Fowler Jr. playing on a one-year deal to prove himself worthy of a hefty contract down the road, Los Angeles has some questions at the position beyond the 2019 season.
Even with players like Cory Littleton emerging out of nowhere last year to make a serious impact, and earn Pro Bowl honors, this is the one area the Rams could still use some extra depth just to play it safe.
If the Redskins were willing to offer any linebacker up in a trade, Ryan Anderson seems worthy of keeping an eye on since despite the effort made over the last two seasons, the former second-round pick from 2017 has yet to start a single game.
Of course, just because Anderson is still in search of his first career NFL start doesn’t necessarily mean the Rams should avoid him at all costs in a potential trade since he’s still young enough where he’s only going to continue developing.
And who knows, if Anderson were to become a possible option in Los Angeles, maybe a move like this could provide him with an opportunity to start down the road.
