1. Theo Riddick

Cards on the table, the Rams seem to be in good enough position at running back if Todd Gurley is unable to go to start off the season since there are still some uncertainties surrounding his knee injury.

Whether it happens to be Darrell Henderson taking on a larger role as a rookie or Malcolm Brown stepping up as a backup, Los Angeles has numerous options to consider outside of Gurley, but hopefully the Pro Bowl running back’s knee turns out to be a non-issue.

With that being said, if the Rams do all of a sudden find themselves in a difficult position where Gurley is showing no signs of improvement, it may not be the worst idea to bring on an extra weapon just in case.

While Theo Riddick is technically considered to be a running back, the Lions have found more value with him in the passing game throughout his career with the ability to turn a simple pass into a solid gain.

Just look at last year how Riddick only rushed for 171 yards compared to the 61 catches for 384 yards, and it’s easy to see why this could be an intriguing option for the Rams.

Since Goff has benefited in a big way from Gurley’s improvement in the passing game over the last two seasons, Riddick seems like the kind of player who would flourish in this kind of offense run by the Rams.
