The Los Angeles Rams should be thrilled to see Robert Woods earn a spot on the NFL Top 100 for the first time in his career.

Back in 2017 when the Los Angeles Rams signed Robert Woods in free agency, there were some critics who questioned whether the team was making the right decision since he wasn’t exactly considered a top wideout during his time with the Buffalo Bills.

At the time, the Rams were in desperate need of help at the wide receiver position, especially after watching Jared Goff get beat up the way he did as a rookie in 2016.

Two years later, Los Angeles is beyond grateful to have signed Woods when they did, as the wideout has become one of the top weapons for Goff to work with on offense, and is coming off a career year during the 2018 season.

After putting together his first career 1,000-yard season (86 catches 1,219 receiving yards with six touchdowns) last year, one can only imagine what Woods will do for an encore this upcoming season with the Rams having their eyes set on reaching another Super Bowl.

With that being said, the folks from the NFL Network have been sharing their list this week of the NFL Top 100, consisting of the top players (voted by the players) heading into the 2019 season.

For the first time ever, Woods earned a spot on the list at No. 76, and for a player who has mostly flown under the radar throughout his career, there’s no question this honor was much deserved.

Watching Woods develop the necessary chemistry with Goff over the last two years makes it seem like this duo is only going to continue getting better the more they play together.

Plus, one of the major advantages that Woods has over most receivers in the NFL is being part of a solid trio in the passing game with Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp, meaning there are plenty of times in which he tends to take advantage of additional passes thrown his way.

Topping his numbers from a year ago certainly won’t be easy, but Woods doesn’t seem like he’s going to be slowing down anytime soon, and could very well see 2019 being another career season.

If this does happen for Woods, a third NFC West title in a row shouldn’t be a problem one bit for the Rams.
