2. Rams built to continue being a serious contender for years

Remember all of the extensions Los Angeles seemed to be handing out left and right last summer?

Well, Goff’s potential future contract has yet to be determined, but when looking at some of the other players the Rams have locked up for years to come, it’s only going to make the jobs of McVay and Snead much easier to handle.

While Donald received most of the attention last summer after holding out all of camp and preseason, Los Angeles deserves some credit for addressing other players such as Brandin Cooks when they did.

Even though Cooks had yet to suit up for a single game, the Rams still felt confident enough in his skill set being high enough to deserve a hefty five-year extension to make sure the speedy wideout would be around for the long run.

Looking back at what McVay and Snead originally had to work with after a disastrous 2016 campaign in which Los Angeles won just four games, it’s been amazing to watch this team develop the way they have since 2017.

Hopefully, if all continues to go well for the Rams this offseason, the team will put themselves in another great position to earn a Super Bowl title like last February, only this time with better results.
