2. Patrick continues to make strong case

One of the best parts about this time of year is watching certain players emerge out of nowhere to make unexpected cases for a roster spot, which appears to be the case with Natrez Patrick.

Around this time last year, linebacker was one of the areas in which there were some questions for the Rams at linebacker, but the circumstances are much different this time around.

Between Dante Fowler playing on a prove-it deal along with the addition of a key veteran in Clay Matthews, Los Angeles has a solid group of linebackers heading into 2019.

Not to mention, Cory Littleton is coming off a surprise Pro Bowl year in 2018, but also just because the Rams are in a better situation at linebacker doesn’t mean they can’t use some extra depth.

After a stellar career at Georgia, Patrick signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent, and has certainly been standing out in preseason so far, including Saturday’s game against the Cowboys.

Final roster cuts will be here before the Rams know it, and if Patrick continues to play like he has, the young linebacker could very well earn one of the final spots to put the defense in better shape.
