3 Rams who need to step up the most following Micah Kiser injury
By Dan Parzych
The Los Angeles Rams will be looking for numerous members on defense to step up now that Micah Kiser is out indefinitely.
The injury bug during preseason finally caught up with the Los Angeles Rams during Saturday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys after second-year linebacker Micah Kiser suffered a left pectoral injury that will keep him out indefinitely.
All of a sudden, the high level of excitement surrounding Kiser working his way into a starting role on defense will be delayed, as this is the last thing the Rams want to be dealing with since September is right around the corner.
While Sean McVay made the easy decision to rest most of the starters for Los Angeles against Dallas, Kiser was one of the few exceptions since the Rams head coach wanted to give the former Virginia star some reps to make sure he was in fact capable of being a starter.
But now that Kiser is out indefinitely, the biggest question surrounding Los Angeles on defense is which players are going to step up at linebacker to help fill the void.
There’s a popular saying in sports that when one player goes down, there’s always someone waiting, and willing to step up to help keep the team in the best shape possible.
As difficult as the Kiser news has been for the Rams to deal with, the good news is the roster is loaded with plenty of talent from players willing to take advantage of the opportunity for a larger role in 2019.
In fact, when looking at the current depth chart, here are three players who immediately stick out the most for the Rams on defense.
