2. Who will step up at linebacker?

This time of year, one of the top goals for each team is to avoid the injury bug at all costs since there’s nothing more frustrating than losing a key starter in a meaningless preseason game, which unfortunately happened for the Rams last weekend.

Losing Micah Kiser to a left pectoral injury in the preseason loss to the Cowboys with the high expectations heading into his second NFL season has left the Rams in a difficult position at linebacker, but at least there are plenty of candidates willing to step up.

At the moment, Bryce Hager seems like the favorite to move into the starting role with Kiser out indefinitely, but also Los Angeles has a few other candidates such as Dakota Allen who will be looking to make a case for extra playing time as well.

From an overall perspective, the Rams should still be pretty solid at linebacker, but it is disappointing to see this injury to Kiser with all of the expectations surrounding the Virginia product.

At least for Saturday’s game, Kiser’s absence will give a little more meaning to some of the other linebacker who all of a sudden may be feeling a little extra motivated over this surprise opportunity in front of them.
