The Los Angeles Rams trimmed their roster down to 53 players on Saturday for the 2019 season.

On Saturday, the Los Angeles Rams officially trimmed their roster down to 53 players before the deadline in what always seems to be one of the toughest times of year in football.

As exciting as it can be for Week 1 being right around the corner, it is difficult to watch the Rams part ways with certain players after looking at all of the work put in over the last few months, especially during training camp and preseason.

Like a majority of teams across the NFL, Los Angeles seemed to have a pretty good idea over which players seemed to be locks to make the 53-man roster, but the last few weeks have seen plenty of interesting position battles taking place.

Even if some of the last-minute decisions don’t exactly see a ton of action on the field throughout the 2019 season, just having the necessary depth at certain positions will help the Rams in a big way in regards to living up to expectations.

After coming up short of winning the Super Bowl last February, the pressure is higher than ever in Los Angeles to earn another trip to the big game, with hopefully better results.

But before jumping too far ahead, Saturday’s deadline for roster cuts has left Rams fans with plenty to discuss, whether it happens to be surprise players making the team or certain ones now looking for work.

Now that the Rams have officially trimmed their roster down, here’s a look at three surprise cuts by the defending NFC champions, as they continue to prepare for their upcoming battle with the Carolina Panthers.
