It looks like the Los Angeles Rams will be facing Jadeveon Clowney twice in 2019 as a result of a trade to the Houston Texans.

Over the last couple of weeks, there’s been speculation over the possibility of the Los Angeles Rams seeing Jadeveon Clowney joining the NFC West since the Seattle Seahawks were reportedly one of the interested teams.

While the Rams are considered the favorites at the moment to win the NFC West for a third year in a row, if there’s any team that’s going to give them a run for the money, it’s the Seahawks.

One year after failing to make the playoffs for the first time during the Russell Wilson era, Seattle returned to the postseason last season as one of the Wild Card teams in the NFC, and almost even advanced to the Divisional Round before falling to the Dallas Cowboys.

As for what to expect in 2019, the Seahawks are expected to be one of the top teams to beat in the NFC once again.

And even though Seattle’s defense is nowhere near the same level from a few years ago when they were viewed as one of the most dangerous units in the league, now that Clowney appears to be coming on board, the NFC West is about to get a little more interesting.

Football fans can criticize this move all they want about what to expect in 2019 from Clowney after missing all of camp and preseason due to a holdout, but this seems like a great addition for the Seahawks.

All of a sudden, Seattle has another effective pass-rusher who will be playing with plenty of extra motivation to eventually earn a hefty long-term contract, meaning the offensive line of the Rams will face another tough challenge in 2019.

Protecting Jared Goff has become a major priority for Los Angeles over the last two years with the unit earning a reputation for being one of the best in the league.

Without question, the unit will be heavily tested in each of the two meetings with the Seahawks in 2019 now that Clowney is going to be a new defender to worry about.

Most importantly, the pressure the Rams were already feeling to live up to the hype of being favorites in the NFC West just hit a new level since the Seahawks clearly improved as a result of the Clowney trade.
