The Los Angeles Rams held on for the 30-27 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Even though it was closer than expected towards the end, the Los Angeles Rams came up big in Week 1 by defeating the Carolina Panthers 30-27 to earn their first road win of 2019.

Despite how things played out in the second half of last season for the Panthers, the Rams knew this would be a difficult matchup on the road filled with numerous challenges, which turned out to be exactly the case.

After coming up short the way they did in Super Bowl 53 against the New England Patriots by failing to score a single touchdown, many wonders how Los Angeles would respond in their first game of 2019.

While there were plenty of great factors to take away from the Rams, there were also a few areas that could use some improvement before the team squares off against the New Orleans Saints in what should be a thrilling Week 2 battle.

Talent wise, Los Angeles may not be as great as last season when looking at some of the changes this team experienced in the offseason, but Sunday made it clear they’re still capable of making another run to play in the Super Bowl.

But before jumping too far ahead since it’s only been one week, it only seems fair to focus on what took place on Sunday against the Panthers.

Starting off with how the defense struggled in stopping Christian McCaffrey, here are three takeaways for the Rams from Sunday’s win over the Panthers to help start the new season on a hot note.
