History shows Cooper Kupp could be in for big game Week 2 against Saints

Cooper Kupp and the Los Angeles Rams will host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in a rematch of the NFC Championship.
Ever since the NFL released their schedule for the 2019 season, the battle between the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints in Week 2 was one of the early games in September that stood out the most.
After watching how things played out in the NFC Championship when the Rams got away with a controversial call, it’s no secret that New Orleans will be feeling extra motivated in this one, meaning Los Angeles will need all of the extra help possible.
Numerous players will come into play when it comes to being difference makers for the Rams, and one individual that immediately comes to mind on offense is Cooper Kupp now that the wideout is finally healthy.
Losing Kupp to a torn ACL in the middle of last season was a crushing blow on offense for Los Angeles when looking at how reliable the former Eastern Washington star has been since joining the Rams in 2017.
Entering the 2017 season, the Rams realized the importance of building a better offense around Jared Goff at quarterback, and Kupp has quickly worked his way into becoming one of his favorite targets to work with in the passing game.
Recovering from a torn ACL in general is never easy to accomplish, but every update from Kupp this offseason during his recovery seemed to be positive.
Not to mention, watching Kupp catch seven passes for 46 yards in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers was amazing to witness since he already is showing signs of looking like his usual self.
With that being said, all eyes will be on Kupp for Sunday’s game against the Saints since it’s safe to assume the Rams will need to see their wideout top last weekend’s production to put them in better position to win.
Luckily for Los Angeles, New Orleans happens to be one of those teams in which Kupp has faced twice in his young NFL career, both of which resulted in big games for the wideout.
After catching eight passes for 116 yards during a Week 12 battle against the Saints as a rookie in 2017, Kupp followed up last year with a five-catch performance in Week 9 down in New Orleans for 89 yards and a score.
One can only imagine what kind of numbers Kupp would have put up in the NFC Championship if he were healthy enough to play, but at least the Rams should feel confident enough in him putting together another solid outing in Week 2.
Assuming this happens with Kupp, it will only put Los Angeles in better position to come out on top against New Orleans, and leave Saints fans even more frustrated moving forward since most of them still aren’t over what took place in January.
