2. Goff, Brees combine for nine touchdown passes

Could the Rams and Saints be in for another shootout on Sunday similar to last season when New Orleans came out on top 45-35 over Los Angeles?

While the Rams certainly deserve credit for fighting their way back into the contest after heavily trailing early on, it still wasn’t enough.

During the contest, both Goff and Drew Brees put on quite the show for football fans to show why both teams were considered to have two of the top offenses in the NFL.

Watching Goff complete 28 of 40 passes for 391 yards with three touchdowns and an interception was already impressive enough, but seeing Brees find a way to top this with 346 passing yards and four touchdowns shows why he’s a lock for Canton down the road.

Topping these performances certainly won’t be easy for either quarterback, but also possible for Goff and Brees since, as mentioned before, this could very well turn into a shootout that comes right down to the wire in the fourth quarter.

The weapons are certainly there for both Goff and Brees to work with in each of their respected offense, meaning if they ended up combining for nine touchdown passes, it would be safe to say the two teams lived up to the Week 2 hype.
