5. Todd Gurley

In previous years, Gurley was considered one of the top running backs to work with in fantasy football since his ability to be just as dangerous as a receiver made him an absolute nightmare for opponents.

But unfortunately, Gurley’s knee became an issue towards the end of last season during the NFC Championship and Super Bowl, which is why the Rams knew they would need to take a different approach with their beloved running back in 2019.

Since the last thing Los Angeles could afford to do is make Gurley’s situation any worse, the team decided to monitor the running back’s workload during the offseason by having him stick to a set schedule.

After months of patiently waiting, all eyes were on Gurley during last weekend’s game in Carolina to see how he would look during his first time on the field, and while the first half was a little shaky, he did finish on a strong note.

Finishing with 97 rushing yards on 14 carries made Rams fans feel a little better about Gurley’s situation, but also realize there’s still plenty to prove.

Around this time last year, Gurley would have easily been higher on a list like this, but to play it safe, No. 5 seems fair for the two-time Pro Bowler.
