13. New Orleans Saints
Ever since the NFL schedule was released back in the spring, the New Orleans Saints had been anxiously waiting for a Week 2 rematch with the Rams to help the team feel a little better over what took place last January.
No one needs to remind the Saints about the controversial call that arguably played a factor in the NFC Championship since New Orleans has spent the last few months wondering what could have been if they actually payed in the Super Bowl.
Unfortunately, any sort of potential revenge for the Saints quickly went out the window after the offense lost Drew Brees early on to a hand injury that resulted in Teddy Bridgewater filling in for the future Hall of Famer.
Watching New Orleans fail to score a single touchdown in this loss shows just how rough of a game Sunday was, and another poor call by officials that prevented the Saints from scoring a defensive touchdown certainly didn’t make things any easier.
As for Brees, well for the sake of the Saints, here’s to hoping that the hand injury is only minor, because the last thing New Orleans can afford is to lose their star quarterback on offense with this kind of Super Bowl caliber team.
