8. San Francisco 49ers

Remember all of the hype surrounding the San Francisco 49ers as a potential Super Bowl contender in the NFC before Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL in September?

Watching the 49ers struggle the way they did throughout the 2018 season was a crushing blow for San Francisco since the team couldn’t help but wonder what could have been if Garoppolo stayed healthy.

But now that Garoppolo is back at full strength, and the team is off to a 2-0 start, the 49ers have every reason to be thrilled with the way things are playing out so far in 2019.

For the second week in a row, San Francisco put together a dominating performance on the road, as the Cincinnati Bengals seemed to have no chance during Sunday’s 41-17 loss.

Plenty of key factors came into play for the 49ers finishing out on top in this one, but Garoppolo’s three touchdown passes easily stood out the most.

With two upcoming games at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, it will be interesting to see if San Francisco can continue to play at a high level before a big Week 5 battle on the road against a familiar face in the Los Angeles Rams.
