Despite the Los Angeles Rams sitting pretty at 2-0, the NFC is still loaded with plenty of competition for the defending conference champions.

When the 2019 schedule was officially released for the Los Angeles Rams and the other 31 teams, Sean McVay knew the defending NFC champions would be facing a difficult challenge right away in September.

From opening the game on the road against a tough Carolina Panthers team to this past weekend’s game in Los Angeles in a rematch of the NFC Championship by facing the New Orleans Saints, the first month of 2019 was considered to be a major test for the Rams.

So with Los Angeles currently sitting at 2-0 heading into their Week 3 battle against the Cleveland Browns, McVay has every reason in the world to feel confident about the Rams earning another trip to the Super Bowl a few months from now, with hopefully better results.

Of course, this is always easier said than done since as defending NFC champions, Los Angeles will be playing with targets on their backs when looking at the rest of the competition in the conference looking to do the same.

As much as the Rams want to believe they deserve to be the favorites to represent the NFC in Miami, there are a few teams that have already been making a strong case over the first two weeks of regular season action, and could end up standing in their way.

No one needs to explain just how quickly things can change in the NFL, and while Los Angeles has their focus set on Cleveland at the moment, let’s take a look at some of the biggest threats for the team within the NFC with the first two weeks officially in the books.
