Cooper Kupp has turned out to be best surprise of September for Rams in 2019

After suffering a torn ACL last November, Cooper Kupp has bounced back stronger than ever for the Los Angeles Rams in 2019.
Without question, the loss of Cooper Kupp in the second half of last season due to a torn ACL was a crushing blow for the Los Angeles Rams, mainly because of how reliable the wideout has been for Jared Goff since coming on board in 2017.
Back in 2017 when the Rams decided to use a third-round pick on the former Eastern Washington star to help fill a void at the wide receiver position, no one really knew exactly what to expect from Kupp at the NFL level.
More often than football fans realize, it can be difficult for a player like Kupp coming from a smaller school to make the adjustment in the NFL, but watching him flourish over the last three seasons shows this has been far from the case.
Throughout the offseason, every update surrounding Kupp seemed to be a positive one, but also the Rams knew the most important factor would come during actual games.
Right away, Kupp has wasted little time picking up where he left off from last season before the injury by already catching 23 passes for 268 yards with two touchdowns in three games, showing once again just how valuable of a receive he is to the offense.
Most recently, Kupp made plenty of fantasy football owners quite happy in Week 3 after torching the defense of the Cleveland Browns with 11 catches for 102 yards with two scores to help the Rams improve to 3-0 with a 20-13 win.
Watching Kupp shine the way he has, it’s tough to believe this is a player that suffered such a serious injury back in November, but also says a lot about the work ethic and mindset put in to get back to this level.
When the official schedule was released back in the offseason, the Rams knew they were going to be in for a brutal September with two of their first three games on the road on top of hosting the New Orleans Saints.
But thanks to players like Kupp stepping up in a big way, Los Angeles heads into the final weekend of September sitting at 3-0 in great position as one of the top teams to beat in the NFC.
Moving forward, fans can only hope that Kupp continues to play at this high of a level for the Rams to help put the team in another great position to make a run at the Super Bowl come winter time, with hopefully better results.
As mentioned before, the loss of Kupp last year was a devastating blow for the Rams’ offense since he’s clearly become one of the most valuable weapons for Goff to work with, but at least if he continues to stay healthy, 2019 should be a career year for the wideout.
