2. 49ers

Remember all of the hype from last season when the Rams and San Francisco 49ers were expected to watch their rivalry hit a whole new level?

Part of the reason behind this was due to the fact that San Francisco seemed to have finally found their new quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo to build the franchise around to compete with Jared Goff for years to come.

Unfortunately, the 49ers watched Garoppolo’s season come to an end early on last year when he suffered a torn ACL, putting San Francisco in a difficult position moving forward.

Now that Garoppolo is back at full strength, San Francisco is off to one of the hottest starts in the league, and continued to make another statement on Sunday when they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers at home.

Even if the Steelers were playing without Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh was still on the verge of pulling off the win before Garoppolo rallied the 49ers in the final minutes with the go-ahead touchdown pass to Dante Pettis.

Coincidentally, the Rams will actually see the 49ers for the first time the following week after taking on the Seahawks in Week 5, meaning this will be another key game within the division, and give Los Angeles fans a better idea of where the team truly stands.
