Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during NFL Week 4 of the 2019 season.

After starting off the new season on a hot note with three wins, the Los Angeles Rams look to keep their undefeated streak alive on Sunday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming to town in what seems like a favorable matchup for the defending NFC champions.

No one needs to explain to the Rams how much of a mistake it would be to take a light approach in this one since the last thing Los Angeles wants to see happen is be on the wrong end of an upset alert to Tampa Bay.

But if the Rams find a way to take advantage of their high-powered offense facing a defense in the Buccaneers that is clearly a work in progress, this could also take some of the pressure off Todd Gurley as well.

While Sean McVay continues to make the claim that Gurley isn’t on some sort of load management program, it is surprising to see Los Angeles is 3-0 without their star running back crossing the 20-carry mark yet.

Back in the offseason when it became clear that something was going on with Gurley’s knee, the Rams made it clear early on they would be taking a different approach with the two-time Pro Bowler to avoid making the situation worse.

Sooner or later, Gurley will most likely see 20+ carries in a game, but as for Sunday’s Week 4 game against the Buccaneers, it most likely won’t happen then for the Los Angeles running back, and here are three reasons as to why.
