Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams have a favorable matchup in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Despite the Los Angeles Rams being off to an impressive 3-0 start to the 2019 season, it’s no secret that the offense hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations, especially when it comes to Jared Goff.

Looking back at the offseason when the schedule was officially released for the regular season, the Rams knew the month of September was going to be a difficult challenge, whether it was their most recent game against the Cleveland Browns or previously hosting the New Orleans Saints.

So while Goff and the offense haven’t exactly lived up to the hype so far, Los Angeles still has plenty of reasons to be thrilled over being undefeated heading into the final weekend of September.

While the argument can be made that Goff’s numbers would most likely be better if Todd Gurley was at full strength since the running back has been monitoring his knee, and has yet to see 20+ carries in a game, there’s still no excuse for his disappointing numbers.

Take a look at last weekend for instance when Goff managed to connect with Cooper Kupp for two trips into the end zone, yet still allowed the Browns’ defense to finish with three turnovers.

And if this wasn’t already frustrating enough, it should also be noted that Goff actually has more interceptions (six) than touchdowns through three games in 2019, meaning the pressure is going to be on moving forward for the former No. 1 pick.

Luckily for Goff, the Rams return home this Sunday with a favorable matchup against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that doesn’t exactly have the most exciting defense, and their 32-31 loss to the New York Giants in Week 3 makes that clear.

After three weeks consisting of scoring just enough points to get by, Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers could be exactly what Goff and the Rams need on offense to show just how explosive this unit can be.

Even if Gurley still ends up being limited in carries as a safety precaution, Goff still has one of the best receiving corps in the NFL to work with consisting of Kupp, Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Josh Reynolds to help take down the Buccaneers.

All things considered, if Goff were looking for the opportunity to finally display that big breakout game of 2019, a meeting with the Buccaneers seems like his best chance.
