4 bold predictions for Rams during Week 4 meeting with Buccaneers in 2019

3. Matthews extends sack streak
Remember back in the offseason when some fans were upset over the Rams signing Clay Matthews since they believed the veteran linebacker’s days of being an effective player were over?
It’s only been three games, but the fact that Matthews has already recorded four sacks in 2019 to top last year’s total makes it seem like Los Angeles made a great decision back during free agency.
Between his veteran leadership on top of the opportunity to mentor some of the younger defenders, Matthews certainly brings a lot to the table on the defensive side of the football for the Rams.
If Matthews continues to play at this high of a level, it’s only going to increase the chances for Los Angeles to finish on top of the NFC West for a third year in a row.
Winston has already seen a few rough outings in 2019, and even if the Buccaneers quarterback still manages to find Evans in the end zone a few times, certain Rams players such as Matthews could still make this result in a long game.
Going four games in a row with at least one sack is never easy for any player to accomplish, but Matthews is clearly playing with a ton of confidence at the moment, and is in great position to make it happen.
