2. Defense had no answers for Godwin

With all due respect to Chris Godwin, Mike Evans seemed like he was going to be the wideout that Los Angeles would need to worry about the most during Sunday’s game.

And while Evans still ended up making his presence felt by hauling in a 67-yard touchdown catch, Godwin was the one who stole the show in the passing game for the Buccaneers.

Just how good was Godwin for Tampa Bay during Sunday’s win in Los Angeles?

Not only did Godwin catch 12 passes for 172 yards on 14 targets, but he managed to find the end zone twice in the win over the Rams, as the wideout continues to show signs of improving with experience.

After taking a major step forward during his sophomore campaign in 2018, early signs point to Godwin setting new career highs with Tampa Bay this season, and at the rate he’s going, it could even happen by end of October or early November.

Through the first three games, the passing defense of the Rams was considered one of the best in the league, but Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers made it clear they have a few things to work on if they want to hold that reputation.
