The Los Angeles Rams will be keeping an eye on Monday’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns.
While the Los Angeles Rams suffered their second loss in a row during Week 5 after a tough battle with the Seattle Seahawks, Sean McVay‘s squad could still receive some help during Monday’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns.
Thanks to the Indianapolis Colts pulling off a shocking win on the road over the Kansas City Chiefs, the 49ers happen to be one of only two remaining undefeated teams, with the New England Patriots being the other team.
Around this time last year, there was plenty of hype surrounding San Francisco potentially emerging as a playoff contender in the NFC before Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL.
But now that Garoppolo is back at full strength, and the defense has been off to an impressive start, the 49ers are finally playing at the high level football fans expected to see last season.
Of course, just because San Francisco is off to a solid 3-0 start doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to last since plenty could happen from now until the end of December, but it’s still exciting for Kyle Shanahan‘s squad.
As for how this impacts the Rams, well McVay’s team has even more work cut out for them at the moment since Thursday’s loss to the Seahawks dropped Los Angeles to third place in the NFC West standings.
And if San Francisco manages to come through with another key win on Monday night against Cleveland, it’s only going to put additional pressure on the Rams moving forward.
With that being said, the good news for Los Angeles is with Cleveland making a major statement in Week 4 from their road win over the Baltimore Ravens, this team should be playing with all sorts of extra confidence during Monday’s meeting in San Francisco.
If the Browns can play at a similar level to the previous week when they defeated the Ravens, the 49ers could end up being at risk to suffering that first loss of 2019 while playing in front of a national audience.
It certainly won’t be easy since San Francisco is obviously 3-0 for a reason, but at least if Cleveland were to come through with the victory, Los Angeles would certainly appreciate it since this would help them in the NFC West race.
