2. 49ers dealing with offensive line issues

Protecting Garoppolo has obviously become a top priority for the 49ers over the last few seasons, but unfortunately the offensive line took a major hit with the news that Mike McGlinchey is expected to miss 4-6 weeks due to a knee injury.

Take this into consideration that San Francisco was already dealing with the absence of Joe Staley with the left tackle being out since Week 2, it’s crazy to see how many injuries the 49ers are dealing with on the offensive line.

Without question, Los Angeles will look to use these injuries to their advantage in Week 6 to apply as much pressure as possible on Garoppolo since the Rams of all teams know how difficult it can be to overcome a banged-up offensive line.

Knowing Aaron Donald, this could be one of those games in which the two-time Defensive Player of the Year embraces the opportunity to put together one of those monster games, and add a few sacks to his season total.

Even if Donald fails to get to Garoppolo as a result of receiving extra attention, if this opens up the way for some of his teammates to record a sack or two, well this would be just as great for the Rams.
