The Los Angeles Rams lost for a third game in a row after falling to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
After an impressive start in Week 6, the Los Angeles Rams seemed like they were going to hand the San Francisco 49ers their first loss of the season in 2019 when Robert Woods found the end zone to give Sean McVay‘s team an early 7-0 lead.
Instead, the Rams ended up losing for the third week in a row, and if the concern wasn’t already there before, it certainly seems to be here now.
As crazy as it is to believe when looking at all of the weapons Jared Goff has to work with on offense, that early touchdown by Woods would end up being the only points scored by Los Angeles on the day after falling to San Francisco 20-7.
Between Goff only throwing for 78 yards on offense to the defense struggling to keep players like George Kittle (eight catches for 103 yards) in check, this was a brutal loss for the Rams against the 49ers, and there’s simply no way to sugarcoat it.
Entering the contest, Los Angeles was already facing plenty of extra pressure since the last thing they could afford to see happen is the team lose three in a row for the first time in the Sean McVay era.
Now that Los Angeles is 3-3 on the season, one can only imagine what the pressure is going to feel like heading into Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons since the Rams keep finding ways to hit new low points in 2019.
Nothing against the 49ers since the team deserves plenty of credit for their impressive play, and 5-0 start, but the Rams seemed to allow plenty of opportunities go to complete waste during Sunday’s loss to San Francisco.
For a team that was expected to be a top contender in the NFC for a third year in a row after earning a trip to the Super Bowl last winter, it’s crazy to think how Los Angeles is another loss away from dropping to below .500 on the 2019 season.
The Rams were able to escape all of the panic talk after losing two in a row to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks, but this is new territory for Los Angeles under McVay.
In a matter of weeks, Los Angeles has gone from one of the favorites in the NFC following a 3-0 start to a team that couldn’t even put up more than seven points at home against a key division rival in the 49ers.
If the Rams weren’t concerned before, they better start worrying, because Sunday’s loss to the 49ers made it seem like this team may not have what it takes to compete in the NFC, which nobody ever expected back in September.
