With Aqib Talib expected to miss a significant amount of time, here are four trade targets for the Los Angeles Rams to consider at cornerback.
Just when it seemed like things with the Los Angeles Rams couldn’t become anymore frustrating after the team suffered a third loss in a row during Week 6, it looks like the defense will be without Aqib Talib for a good amount of time.
After missing Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a rib injury, the Rams were hoping this injury would only end up being minor, especially since the passing defense has been struggling in recent weeks.
Turns out, Talib’s injury suffered in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks is worse than expected after Los Angeles announced on Monday the veteran cornerback will be heading to IR, and sidelined for at least eight weeks.
As mentioned before, the passing defense of the Rams has faced plenty of criticism over the last few weeks after starting off 2019 on a hot note through the first three games, and Talib’s injury is the last thing this team wants to be dealing with heading into Week 7.
For the first time during the Sean McVay era, Los Angeles has lost three games in a row, and currently sits in third place in the race for the NFC West title, meaning the pressure will be on even more now that Talib will be missing in action.
Since the trade deadline is quickly approaching, it only makes sense for the Rams to explore potential options if other teams are willing to give up one of their cornerbacks.
Now that Los Angeles knows Talib’s timetable, it’s time to take a look at a few trade targets at cornerback for the team to consider that would benefit the defense.
