Jalen Ramsey playing Week 7 for Rams would be huge
By Dan Parzych
The Los Angeles Rams would love to see Jalen Ramsey suit up for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
After months consisting of football fans trying to figure out where Jalen Ramsey could potentially land in a trade, the Los Angeles Rams turned out to be the winners of the sweepstakes to land the cornerback by completing a deal on Tuesday with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Giving up two future first-round picks for a player like Ramsey who is only under contract through the 2020 season may sound like a huge risk, but also the talent alone seems like this will work wonders for the Rams on defense.
Dating back to last season, Los Angeles has proven to be a team in “win now” mode by willing to make any sort of move possible that puts them in great position to earn a trip to the Super Bowl, and it nearly worked.
Despite the Rams on the verge of hitting the panic button after suffering a third loss in a row last week to the San Francisco 49ers, there’s still plenty of time for Sean McVay‘s team to turn things around.
Plus, now that Ramsey is officially on board to give Los Angeles a bit of an upgrade at the cornerback position since he’s arguably a better option than Marcus Peters, the star cornerback should be able to make an immediate impact.
Does this mean Rams fans could even be fortunate enough to see Ramsey suit up on Sunday to put Los Angeles in better position to defeat the Falcons on the road?
Even though Ramsey just recently came on board this week, it appears the goal for Los Angeles is to have their new beloved cornerback part of the action, which would be amazing to see take place.
Plenty could change from now until Sunday afternoon, but just hearing the Rams claim the goal is for Ramsey to play will put a smile on the faces of all fans.
When looking at how the Falcons have one of the most dangerous group of receivers on paper led by Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, the Rams will need all of the help possible on the defensive side of the football come Sunday.
Time will tell when it comes to seeing whether Ramsey ends up being one of these players, but hopefully if all goes well, this turns out to be the case for Los Angeles.
