12. Houston Texans (4)

Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts was the perfect example that if the Houston Texans are going to have any shot at competing for the AFC North title, the defense will need to figure out a way to improve.

For a team coming off an impressive win on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Texans were looking to keep the momentum going in Week 7 by handing the Colts another loss, and build a comfortable lead in the AFC South standings.

By coming up short, Houston missed out on a golden opportunity to continue to prove they deserve to be in the conversation as a top contender in the AFC.

Plenty of factors came into play for the Texans in this one, but since Deshaun Watson is the clear leader of the offense, it only seems fair to point out some of his questionable throws, two of which resulted in interceptions by the Colts’ defense.

Rightfully so, Watson found his name in the MVP conversation thanks to that thrilling win over the Chiefs in Week 6, and while there’s no reason to remove the Texans quarterback after one game, this factor along with the loss was another missed opportunity for the Houston star.
