Robert Woods and the Los Angeles Rams will take on the Cincinnati Bengals in London during Week 8.

Looking back at the 2017 free agency period, there’s no question the Los Angeles Rams ended up with one of the biggest steals in Robert Woods after looking at the impact made on offense over the last three seasons.

At the time, the Rams were in desperate need of bringing help on board to provide Jared Goff with better weapons to work with in the passing game after watching the former No. 1 pick finish 0-7 as a rookie the year before.

Even though Woods didn’t exactly put together the most impressive numbers during the four years spent as a member of the Buffalo Bills, a fresh start on a new team like the Rams with a potential quarterback on the rise in Goff seemed like it would work out great for both parties.

Currently in the middle of his third season in Los Angeles, it would be a huge understatement to say Woods has flourished in Sean McVay‘s offense, and it’s tough to imagine the Rams still having all of their previous success since 2017 without him part of the picture.

Just how good has Woods been for Los Angeles on offense? Well, the fact that Woods set career highs across the board in 2018 by catching 86 passes for 1,219 yards to go along with six touchdown catches shows how important the wideout has been.

After posting these numbers, it was easy to set the bar high for Woods once again in 2019 to continue playing a key role on offense for the Rams, but unfortunately this year hasn’t seen the most exciting numbers from Woods.

Through the teams first seven games, Woods only has 36 catches to his name for 435 yards, but the most surprising factor of all is how he has yet to find the end zone through the air.

While it was great to see Woods find the end zone on the ground during the team’s Week 6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, one would assume the Los Angeles wideout would at least have a few touchdown catches by now.

Whether it has to do with Goff facing heavier pressure as a result of the inconsistent offensive line or simply that Todd Gurley hasn’t looked like his usual self, there are plenty of factors that arguably come into play for Woods.

But with the Rams having a gift of a matchup in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals, this seems like the perfect opportunity for Woods to finally record that first touchdown catch of the season.

Otherwise, it’s only going to increase the pressure for Woods and the rest of the offense for Los Angeles heading into November, which no one wants to deal with.
