Brandin Cooks was forced to leave Sunday’s game for the Los Angeles Rams against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a concussion.

A few weeks ago, losing Brandin Cooks in the middle of their Week 5 battle against the Seattle Seahawks due to a concussion was difficult for the Los Angeles Rams on offense since the speedster’s presence always makes a huge difference.

But after watching Cooks leave Sunday’s game in London against the Cincinnati Bengals with another concussion, it seems like the Rams could have bigger issues than originally expected with one of their top wideouts.

Even though injuries happen all the time in the NFL, no one needs to explain just how concerning it can be for any player to suffer a concussion, and it’s even more concerning to see Cooks heading towards concussion protocol for the second time in the month of October.

Due to his smaller size compared to most receivers across the NFL, Cooks has taken plenty of brutal hits throughout his career, and while the helmet-to-helmet incident from Sunday’s game against the Bengals clearly wasn’t his fault, the concerns are still present.

Player safety is always going to be a top priority for every team across the league, but seeing Cooks back in this situation already after Week 5 should give Los Angeles reasons to be concerned moving forward.

As bad as it sounds, even when Cooks is healthy enough to return, the concerns aren’t just going to automatically disappear overnight since the wideout is going to seem more at risk to suffer another concussion each time he takes a hit.

When these kinds of situations take place, players returning to full strength will always be the most important factor, and even though Cooks will certainly benefit from the team having the bye week after their trip to London, it’s still difficult to deal with.

No one needs to explain just how much of a difference maker Cooks can be when healthy enough to suit up for the offense, and there’s a reason why Los Angeles is excited to have him around for the long run.

But after suffering yet another concussion against the Bengals, how can the Rams not feel some sort of concerns towards Cooks moving forward?
