The Los Angeles Rams arguably caught a break with a new report claiming the Seattle Seahawks were looking into Antonio Brown before claiming Josh Gordon off waivers.

While some Los Angeles Rams fans questioned why the team didn’t make a strong push to claim Josh Gordon off the waivers after watching the Seattle Seahawks add him to the roster, it looks like the team lucked out over another potential move involving Antonio Brown.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Seattle actually looked into the possibility of Brown, but as football fans know, this obviously never happened since the team ended up claiming Gordon instead.

From a talent perspective, no one needs to explain just how much of an impact Brown is capable of making on the football field. But since Brown is currently under investigations to previous accusations, it’s also easy to see why the Seahawks preferred to go with Gordon over Brown just to be safe.

As for the Rams, when taking into consideration the Seahawks already have the advantage over their rivals in the division race, Los Angeles should feel extra thankful that Brown won’t be joining the NFC West.

Despite Los Angeles enjoying their bye week with a 5-3 record, the team currently sits in third place behind the Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West standings.

If Seattle ended up deciding to bring Brown on board, this most likely would have made it even more difficult for the Rams to catch up to their rivals in the standings.

But since Brown is a non-issue, the Rams will just need to worry about whether Gordon ends up giving the Seahawks an extra advantage on offense during this final stretch of the 2019 regular season.

Gordon may not be on the same level as Brown talent wise, but a fresh start in Seattle could very well help the wideout get back on track while helping the Seahawks punch their ticket to the postseason in the process.

Russell Wilson has already made a strong case to be considered in the MVP conversation when the time comes, and one can only imagine how much those odds would have increased with Brown part of the picture.

So if the Rams were looking for potential breaks working in their favor at the start of November, the Seahawks choosing to pass on Brown while settling for Gordon deserves to be on the list.
