8. Buffalo Bills (8)

One week after suffering a surprise loss at home to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Buffalo Bills were hoping to avoid another loss on Sunday to the Washington Redskins.

Even though the Redskins are nowhere near the same level as the Eagles from a competitive standpoint, Washington has put together a few impressive performances in 2019, and is a team with nothing to lose at this point.

In other words, the last thing the Bills could afford to see happen in Week 9 was the team ending up on the wrong side of an upset against the Redskins, which luckily wasn’t the case after Buffalo held on for the 24-9 win.

Unlike the previous weekend, Buffalo’s defense looked dominant by keeping Washington out of the end zone, and continues to make a case for being one of the top playoff contenders in the AFC.

There’s still plenty of time remaining in the regular season where anything could happen, but the Bills should love their chances of eventually earning a Wild Card spot when the time comes since the division seems out of reach due to the New England Patriots.

Of course, as great as Buffalo’s defense has looked, the Bills will also need to see Josh Allen continue to play well on offense.
