3. New Orleans Saints (3)

Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any better for the New Orleans Saints leading up to their bye week, Drew Brees returned from his thumb injury in Week 8, and looked like his usual self to help the team keep their impressive winning streak alive.

Since the Saints suffered that crushing Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the game Brees suffered the injury, New Orleans has yet to lose a single game to make a strong case over being one of the top teams to beat in the NFC.

The San Francisco 49ers may be the lone undefeated team at the moment in the conference, but come playoff time, the Saints could be the last team anyone wants to face in January.

Over the last couple of years, Brees has helped New Orleans emerge as one of the top contenders in the NFC, and the bye week came at the perfect time for the future Hall of Famer to earn a little extra rest before the team’s Week 10 meeting with the Atlanta Falcons.

Back in September, this NFC South battle seemed to have the potential to be one of the top games from the weekend, but since the Falcons only have one win to their name, this should be an easy one for Brees and the Saints.
