2. Rams wouldn’t be in playoffs if season ended today

Rightfully so, the Rams entered the 2019 season expected to be one of the top teams to beat in the NFC after previously finishing on top of the NFC West two years in a row along with a Super Bowl appearance.

But as crazy as it is to believe, if the regular season were to officially end today, Los Angeles would be watching the playoffs from home since they currently sit in the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoff picture.

Basically, the Rams have plenty of work to do over their final eight games since every win possible is going to be extremely important, especially when seeing how competitive the conference is turning out to be.

Los Angeles knew the pressure would be on as defending champions within the conference since they would be playing with targets on their back, but this is also a new experience in the McVay era since the Rams have previously been on top of the division over the last two seasons.

Plenty could still happen from now until the end of December, but the last thing the Rams can afford is to lose in Pittsburgh to drop them further down in the NFC playoff race.

So while one game may not seem like that big of a deal, it certainly could be down the road when the official standings are in place.
