LA Rams fans should follow these Senior Bowl defensive players very closely  on Saturday

The LA Rams have three key defensive players heading to free agency in March. Defensive lineman Michael Brockers and inside linebacker Cory Littleton are very good interior defenders. Outside linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. is a ferocious and relentless pass rusher off the edge. Hopefully, LA will be able to keep re-sign them.

If the Rams are unable to re-sign those three, there are plenty of talented players in the upcoming Senior Bowl worth consideration in the draft. Expect the Rams front office to take a long look at them.

Honestly, the Rams may not be able to retain Fowler. After finishing his rookie contract, he will want a big payday. Perhaps it’s cheaper to find a rookie at a much cheaper price tag for at least four years.

Don’t forget, Jalen Ramsey is in the final year of his rookie deal. Ramsey will expect top tier money but will LA have the salary cap space? There is still time to figure out Ramsey and his contract demands.

For an infusion of youth and inexpensive quality defensive players, the Rams have several options to choose from playing in the Senior Bowl this week. The majority are not elite, top tier players but can get the job done. With the right coaching and opportunity, they all have nice upside. Here’s a look at some defenders that could help the Rams defense.

Five Senior Bowl defensive players worth draft considerations

First, Neville Gallimore played defensive tackle at Oklahoma University. Gallimore stands 6-feet-2 weighing 301 pounds. He will play for the North team. Gallimore will probably be a day two draft pick.

Second, Robert Windsor was a defensive tackle at Penn State. He stands 6-feet-4 weighing 285 pounds. Windsor will wear the South uniform on Saturday. Look for him to surprise the scouts.

Third, Malik Harrison played linebacker at Ohio State. Harrison stands 6-feet-3 weighing 240 pounds. He will play for the North team. Harrison might be a steal as a fourth round selection.

Fourth, T.J. Brunson played linebacker at South Carolina. Brunson stands 6-feet-1 weighing 230 pounds. He will wear the South uniform. Expect Brunson to exhibit his leadership and tackling skills during the game.

Fifth, Francis Bernard played linebacker at Utah after transferring from Brigham Young University. Bernard stands 6-feet-1 weighing 235 pounds. He will wear the North uniform. Bernard could be taken in rounds 4-6.
