Option 3: University of Georgia offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson

Offensive Tackle. Bulldogs . Isaiah Wilson. 3. player. 814.

The third option for offensive tackle is incredibly raw but talented Isaiah Wilson from the Georgia Bulldogs. A very intense fierce competitor, he certainly has the “bulldog” mentality when he lines up. He stands 6-foot-7 and weighs in a 340 pounds. As such, he is the biggest and likely the most powerful prospect of the bunch.

Powerful, but raw, describes Wilson. He needs significant coaching to master footwork for the position.  He plants his feet and delays resetting to get the best leverage on mobile pass rushers. Like others, he succeeded at the college level due to his power and size.  He will be tested heavily at the NFL level.

Next. LA Rams RB Malcolm Brown may need new zip in 2020. dark

Wilson may be raw and need coaching, but he possesses an indomitable will. He stays with plays, blocking downfield or getting behind the pile to help the ball carrier pick up that extra bit of yardage.  It’s that determination and raw talent which positions him as an ideal prospect for the Rams.  A year on the bench, getting coached up, and playing behind Whitworth would be a optimal scenario for a raw but motivated offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson.

Re-signing Andrew Whitworth does not improve the Rams offensive line. It does give the team a year to draft, coach up, practice, and assess the left tackle position. Hopefully general manager Les Snead will use the time wisely, and ensure the left tackle position has adequate depth through 2020 and beyond.
