LA Rams: Why is there a need to overhaul the classic logo?

Why do the LA Rams think a rebranding of the classic logo is warranted?
Unless you have been quarantined with the coronavirus in the past few days, there has been a major disruption in the social media universe. The LA Rams’ new logo has been leaked to the public and the reviews are not good. Perhaps the biggest question to ask is, why the drastic change?
After all, the Rams are not a new franchise. They will be playing in their 84th NFL season in 2020. This proud and stable franchise ranks very high in team worth among other NFL and sports franchises.
Last September, according to Forbes.com, LA ranked fourth on the list of the NFL’s most valuable teams of 2019. They are valued at $3.8 billion behind Dallas ($5.5B), New England ($4.1B) and the New York Giants ($3.9B). Take a look at the Rams ranking among the other sports franchises.
According to Forbes.com, in July 2019, they ranked the 50 most valuable sports franchises in the world. The Rams were ranked in twelfth position with the Boston Red Sox. Why is there a need to change the logo?
LA has made subtle changes to their uniforms and logos throughout franchise history. However, nothing as drastic as the proposed new look. It would be a drastic mistake to get away from the classic Rams head.
SoFi stadium will be ready for the upcoming season. Maybe the Rams front office would like a fresh new look for a brand new stadium. Is that necessarily a smart thing to do? Stan Kroenke is a very astute businessman.

The LA Rams are a very good team. The Rams will be in the mix for another run for the Super Bowl. There is no need to think that LA has abandoned the Rams. Expect a different new logo to be revealed.
